When my son was diagnosed with autism, my honest reaction was, “Au-what?” I was completely clueless. I didn’t really understand what autism was or how wide the spectrum could be. I spent hours searching for answers while people were telling me everything from what I should do next to, “He seems fine to me.” Between trying to get him the services he needed, finding specialists, and figuring out who to listen to, it all felt like a whirlwind.

That's why I created A Different World.

I wanted to create the kind of support I wish I’d had—a place where parents can say what’s really on their minds without feeling judged, celebrate the wins that may seem small to someone else but mean everything in our world, and simply have an extended village to lean on.
